CMP Media Holds Winter Carnival

CMP Media warmed up a cold winter Saturday for the youth living on MercyFirst’s St. Mary’s Campus by hosting an indoor carnival on February 24, 2007. The carnival was held on the St. Mary’s Campus located in Syosset, NY and provided an opportunity for these boys, many of whom have never been able to attend a fair, to play games and enjoy cotton candy and popcorn with their friends from CMP.

CMP Media is a marketing and solutions company for the technology and healthcare industries headquartered in Manhasset, NY, who has been partnering with MercyFirst since 2002 to provide these young men with expanded opportunities, including job-shadowing and one-to-one mentoring. In 2006 CMP’s Foundation donated $25,000 to give the St. Mary’s Campus gym a much-needed renovation. This was followed-up by another donation in January 2007 of $31,000, which will be spilt among some of CMP’s favorite MercyFirst initiatives: $11,000 for Youth Development, $15,000 for refinishing the Syosset Campus gym floor, and $5,000 for the Assistance Dog Program. CMP Media was honored by MercyFirst in June 2006 for their commitment and enthusiasm to the agency and its mission.

“CMP is a great partner,” explains MercyFirst CEO, Gerard McCaffery. “Many of our youth have been abused and neglected and come from very troubled backgrounds. We strive to provide them with a stable home, as well as the specialized services and educational opportunities they need to become successful in life. CMP takes our mission to heart and cares about these children as much as we do.”
